Battle of Wisternitz
bitva u Dolních Věstonic
5 August 1619: the Moravian estates stopped an imperial advance here.
The battle of Dolní Věstonice was fought on 5 August 1619, one of the engagements the confederate estates won during the Bohemian revolt. The imperial officer Jindřich Duval Dampierre was moving through a Moravia the war had not yet damaged; the Moravian colonel Fridrich of Tiefenbach was sent to stop him. The fighting was unusually hard and uncompromising for its scale. You are standing on a battlefield that looks like farmland, which is what most battlefields look like.
