cathedral of St. Peter and Paul
katedrála svatého Petra a Pavla
Brno's silhouette, twin 84 m towers — and the building on the 10-koruna coin.
The cathedral of St Peter and Paul — Petrov to everyone in Brno — is the seat church of the bishop of Brno, standing on Petrov hill in the city centre. It is a national cultural monument, one of the most significant architectural monuments in South Moravia, and among the city's defining landmarks: it is the building on the Czech ten-koruna coin. Both towers stand 84 metres. The nave interior and much of the furnishing are Baroque, by the sculptor Ondřej Schweigl, while the twin-tower silhouette is far younger than it looks.
