Church of St Wenceslas and St Agnes (Hustopeče)
Kostel svatého Václava a svaté Anežky České
Built 1992-94, replacing a Gothic church demolished in 1962.
The church of St Wenceslas and St Agnes of Bohemia in Hustopeče was built between 1992 and 1994 to a design by the architect and artist Ludvík Kolek. It replaced the original late-Gothic two-nave church of St Wenceslas, which was demolished in 1962. That sequence — a medieval church pulled down under one regime and a modern one raised after the next — is the whole recent history of the town in one building.
