Děvín
At 550 m, the highest point of Pálava — with a castle ruin on its lower summit.
Děvín is the highest summit of the Pavlovské vrchy, of the Mikulov Highlands and of the whole South Moravian Carpathians, reaching 550 metres above sea level. It rises over the Nové Mlýny reservoir about 7 km north of Mikulov, and forms an elongated ridge with two summits: the higher carries a television transmitter roughly 57 metres tall, and the lower holds the ruin of Děvičky castle, also known as Dívčí hrady. An older figure of 554 metres is sometimes quoted, but that refers to a trigonometric point mounted on a four-metre pillar.
