Evangelický kostel v Návsí
Czechia
The church at Návsí belongs to a particular family of buildings: the Lutheran 'toleration churches' of the Těšín region, raised after the Toleration Patent allowed Protestant congregations to worship openly again. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. What you see is not the first place of worship on this spot. A wooden prayer house stood here from 1791, and the present building replaced it. The foundation stone was laid on 18 August 1817, and the work ran until 1820. Note the word the source uses for it at first: a modlitebna, a prayer house, rather than a grand church.
