Kostel svatého Jiří

Czechia

The church of St George in Dobrá, in the Frýdek-Místek district, did not start on empty ground. An older wooden church stood here first, and rather than being pulled down it was moved to Soběšovice. In its place Count František Eusebius of Oppersdorf had a Baroque church built between 1682 and 1686. What you see is a single-nave building, properly oriented, under a saddle roof with a small sanctus turret. It has been on the state list of cultural monuments since 1964. The original measurements survive: 29 metres long, 11.5 metres across the nave and 9.65 metres in the chancel.
