Malostranská vodárenská věž
Czechia
Prague has several historic water towers, but this is the smallest of them, and the only one that stands by the left bank of the Vltava. It is known both as the Malostranská vodárenská věž, the Malá Strana water tower, and as the Petržilkovská věž. To find it, you head to Smíchov, in Prague 5, and out onto Petržilkovský ostrov, a small island close to Janáčkovo nábřeží and the southern tip of Dětský ostrov, the Children's Island. Its siblings on the opposite bank are better known, so arriving here feels a little like discovering the quieter member of a family.
