Mikulov Highlands
Mikulovská vrchovina
Soft flysch with hard limestone crags punching through it.
The Mikulov Highlands are a geomorphological unit in the Břeclav district and the only part of the South Moravian Carpathians on Czech territory. The structure is what makes the landscape: a broken upland of soft flysch layers with crags of Jurassic limestone standing out of it. Elevations run from 162 to 550 metres — the low point in the floodplain, the high point on Děvín.
