Minaret in Lednice
Minaret
A 64.8 m minaret in a Moravian park — the only one in the country.
The Lednice minaret is a 64.8-metre romantic lookout tower standing in the grounds of the Lednice château park, and it is exactly as improbable as it sounds: the only minaret in the Czech Republic, and the tallest structure of its type anywhere outside Islamic countries. It is also the second-oldest surviving lookout tower in the Czech lands. It has been on the register of immovable cultural monuments since 1958, and forms part of the Lednice-Valtice area inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
