MO-S 5 "Na trati"
Czechia
The name means "On the Track", and it was meant literally. MO-S5 is a two-storey infantry blockhouse built so that a railway line ran straight through it. Rather than one block of concrete, the builders made two: a right-hand half, MO-S5 (a), and a left-hand half, MO-S5 (b), each facing its own way, on either side of the rails. A 22-metre underground corridor joined them. That is why the records call it an atypical, two-sided blockhouse. When you stand between the halves today, you are standing roughly where the trains once passed, in Starý Bohumín, close to the present Czech–Polish border.
