Most SNP
Slovakia
Stand on the Petržalka bank and look across, and the first thing you notice is what is missing. Most SNP is the only bridge in Bratislava with no pier standing in the Danube itself. A single steel pylon on one side carries the whole deck on a fan of cables, which gives it the longest main span of any bridge in the city, 303 metres between supports. It has had more than one name: from 1993 until 28 August 2012 it was officially the Nový most, the New Bridge, and almost everyone also calls it the UFO bridge, for the disc perched on top of the pylon. Since 16 May 2018 it has been a national cultural monument.
