Panna Maria pod Řetězem
Czechia
The first thing to understand is that the church you enter is only the end of a building that was never finished. Panna Maria pod řetězem, the Church of Our Lady beneath the Chain, is the torso of a much larger medieval church of the Knights of St John, the order later known as the Maltese Knights. What survives as the church today is just the chancel of that intended building. It sits in Lázeňská street in Malá Strana and is protected as a cultural monument together with the neighbouring buildings of the order's commandery. The order's own website gives a fuller, archaic name, Our Lady beneath the Chain at the end of the bridge, though that is rarely used.
