Panna Marie Sněžná
Czechia
You find the Church of Our Lady of the Snows on Masarykovo náměstí, the main square of Rokycany in the Plzeň Region, and its tower is the first thing to fix on. It reaches 66 metres, but it is the youngest part of the building by some distance. The church below it has stood on this spot since at least the 14th century, and its building history runs continuously back to the Gothic period. What you see today is the result of a late Baroque and Classicist rebuilding around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, and the whole is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
