Reduta
Slovakia
Stand on the corner where Mostová, Palackého and Medená streets meet, between Hviezdoslav Square and Ľudovít Štúr Square, and the Reduta fills your view. It does more than occupy a plot: its mass closes off the whole building block. The long side runs down narrow Mostová, which is where you enter, while the shorter side, the more richly worked of the two, faces the Slovak National Theatre. The front turned towards Ľudovít Štúr Square was also given a more elaborate treatment, simply because its position allowed for it.
