Regéci vár

Slovakia

The ruin sits on a 639-metre height in the middle of the Zemplén Hills, and although it carries the name of Regéc, almost all of it lies within the boundary of the neighbouring village of Mogyoróska, which is also physically closer. In a straight line the castle hill is little more than a kilometre from the centre of Mogyoróska and roughly one and a half from Regéc. On foot, either village gives you a walk of about two and a half to three kilometres. If you are driving, the Regéc approach is much simpler: signs on road 3716 at the north-eastern edge of the village point you off, there are several places to park on the way, and in justified cases you can drive right up to the castle.
