Schloss Droß
Austria
Schloss Droß sits at the southern edge of the village of Droß, in the Krems district of Lower Austria, on a raised terrace beside the road that runs on towards Senftenberg. Approach from the east and you meet what counts as its main front: a gate tower over the entrance, capped with an onion dome. At each of the four corners, a tower set diagonally across the angle rises the full height of the building and ends in a curved, pointed roof. It is a listed monument, and in older usage it went by another name, Burg Droß, a reminder that a castle stood here before the house you see.
