South-Moravian Carpathians
Jihomoravské Karpaty
Where the Carpathians reach into Moravia and across into Austria.
The South Moravian Carpathians are a geomorphological region spanning southern Moravia and north-eastern Austria, belonging to the Outer Western Carpathians subprovince. It is the frame the rest of the region's terrain sits inside: the Pálava ridge, the Mikulov Highlands and the hills around them are all local expressions of this larger structure.
