Staré Hradisko

Czechia

You reach Staré Hradisko on a hill above the hamlet of Okluky, about a kilometre east of the village of Malé Hradisko, roughly halfway between Prostějov and Boskovice on the eastern edge of the Drahany Highlands. It is counted as the most important Celtic oppidum in Moravia, a fortified town on an isolated spur between two streams: the Okluka and a nameless tributary running down from Malé Hradisko. The ground is freely accessible, protected as a cultural monument, and an educational trail with information panels leads you round. The historic trade route known as the Amber Road once passed nearby.
