svatá Markéta
Czechia
You find svatá Markéta in the centre of Strakonice, just off Palackého náměstí on the street named after it, U Sv. Markéty. It sits close to where the Volyňka meets the Otava. The main road from Horažďovic runs along its west side, and a newly built market hall stands to the south. It is a single-nave church with no separate chancel. Nave and sanctuary run together in one block of roughly 13 by 40 metres, with a square tower on the west front. Most of it is plain white render without decoration. Walk round to the east end, though, and the mood changes.
