You reach the Church of St Maurice in Řevnice through a Baroque gateway carrying the emblem of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star, and the first thing you notice is that the church stands among graves no longer in use. This is the old cemetery, known that way since a new one was laid out on Šiberný hill. The whole ensemble is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic: the church, the mortuary, two crosses among the graves and a statue of St John of Nepomuk standing by the boundary wall. Older records sometimes call the building the church of St Mauritius, or give it a double dedication, to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St Mauritius.
