svatý Petr a Pavel
Czechia
Look up first, because that is what everyone does. The two towers on the west front rise 58 metres and have become one of the landmarks of the Prague skyline, yet they are surprisingly recent. What you see is a radical neo-Gothic rebuilding by Josef Mocker between 1885 and 1887, with the façade completed to a design by František Mikš in 1902–1903. The roots go much deeper. King Vratislav II founded the church in 1070 together with the Vyšehrad chapter of canons, so the building in front of you is a late costume on a very old body.
