Valtice Castle
zámek Valtice
Baroque Liechtenstein residence, the second anchor of the UNESCO landscape.
Valtice Castle is a Baroque residence in the South Moravian town of Valtice, and for several centuries — until 1945 — it was a princely seat of the Liechtenstein family. It has been protected as a national cultural monument since 1995, and in 1996 it entered the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of the Lednice-Valtice area. The castle is now state property, administered by the National Heritage Institute, open to the public and used for cultural events such as the Valtice Castle Summer.
