Zámek Kravaře
Czechia
Walk out along the avenue of trees from the town and you are already inside the eighteenth century. That alley, running straight to the north front of Zámek Kravaře, is the last surviving line of a formal French-style garden laid out around the house when it was rebuilt between 1721 and 1728. At the end of it stands a four-winged Baroque château wrapped around a closed courtyard, one of the more valuable pieces of Baroque architecture in Silesia, now owned by the town and home to its castle museum. Behind and to the east, the old park spreads out across 19 hectares, most of it given over to golf since 1998.
