zámek Libá
Czechia
Libá sits on a rise above the Libský potok, the stream that runs through the south-eastern edge of the village, a short way from Františkovy Lázně in the far west of Bohemia. Older maps and documents call it Liebenstein. What stands here is a castle that was later remade as a château, and if you walk around it with that in mind, you start to see both buildings at once: the medieval stronghold underneath and the softer, later residence laid over it. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1963.
