Zámek Nová Horka
Czechia
Nová Horka sits on a gentle rise at the edge of the Oder floodplain, close to where the little Sedlnička river runs into the Oder. That position explains much of what follows: this spot once watched over a ford across the Oder. What you see today is a Baroque château from the middle of the 18th century, given neo-Gothic touches during a rebuild in the second half of the 19th. Around it lies a château park enclosed by a wall decorated with sculptures. Since 2020 the building has been open as a branch of the Museum of the Nový Jičín Region, and you see the interior on a guided tour.
