Zámek Paskov
Czechia
Zámek Paskov did not begin as a château. Underneath the early Baroque building you see today is an older fortified manor, a tvrz, which the Bruntálský z Vrbna family rebuilt in the 17th century. Ownership then passed through a long line of noble and entrepreneurial families, each of whom adapted the house and its park. The last private owners, the Counts Stolberg, made the most decisive changes at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the second half of the 20th century the building served as a healthcare facility. The town of Paskov acquired it in 2013 and, after reconstruction, has run it as a regional museum since 2018. The whole complex has been listed as a cultural monument since 1958.
